Thailand has some of the most beautiful islands in the entire world. Whether you decide to visit Koh Samui, Koh Lanta, or Koh Chang, your Thailand holiday would be incomplete without adding a few islands to your itinerary.
With so many islands to choose from, it can be difficult to decide which one would be best for you.
There are islands for everyone in Thailand, whether you want to explore the ocean, lounge on the beach, or trek to popular viewpoints, there is something for everyone in this Southeast Asian nation.
In this guide, I'm going to talk about Koh Phi Phi, an island known for its beach parties, epic landscapes, and turquoise waters.
To make your trip planning easier, here are the three best things to do in Koh Phi Phi island:
Visit Koh Phi Phi Leh
There are two main islands that make up Koh Phi Phi: Koh Phi Phi Don, the big island, and Koh Phi Phi Leh, the small island.
As a traveler, it's almost certain that you will stay on Koh Phi Phi Don, unless you book a liveaboard.
Since you'll be staying on Koh Phi Phi Don, I want to make sure that you don't miss the biggest highlight in Koh Phi Phi: the small island of Koh Phi Phi Leh.
This island is magical with attractions like Maya Bay, Viking Cove, and more.
Hop aboard a longtail boat and explore this island as much as possible. Bring snorkel gear, your sunscreen, and lots of energy because there are so many amazing things to do on this island.
As a Thai island, it's no secret that there will be plenty of beaches to explore. Beach hopping is an awesome thing to do on Koh Phi Phi island and here are a few beaches you can add to your itinerary:
Loh Dalum Beach
This is the main beach on Koh Phi Phi Don. Here, you'll find plenty of snack bars, kayak rental companies, water sports, and more.
Although I'm not a fan of macaques, others seem to enjoy them.. or at least they enjoy taking pictures with them.
On Koh Phi Phi Don, you can visit a beach FULL of monkeys just waiting to take selfies with you.. or steal all of your belongings (seriously, keep an eye on your valuables - they WILL take them!).
Trek To The Viewpoint
And of course, a visit to Koh Phi Phi wouldn't be complete without a visit to one of the most epic viewpoints in Thailand.
The Koh Phi Phi Viewpoint requires a short hike, but the effort will be more than worth it.
I recommend visiting the viewpoint for sunset as this is an incredible sight to see. However, keep in mind that you likely won't be at the viewpoint alone.
