Good places for a run in downtown Toronto

Staying fit while travelling is important. The streets in downtown Toronto aren't the best places to run with all the lights and pedestrians. But there are some locations here that are good for runners :

  • Along the waterfront: This is probably the best place to run in downtown Toronto. Queen's Quay is the road that runs along the lake front in downtown. It's best to start at York Street and Queen's Quay, and then run west along Queen's Quay. This 5-10km stretch is is just waterfront parks with lots of space for joggers
  • Riverdale park: on the east end of downtown, this is a pretty big urban park that has a lot of open space and some pedestrian trails that you can run on. Get off at the Broadview subway station and go south about 400m and you'll see the park on your right hand side
  • High Park: the biggest urban park in Toronto. It's a bit outside of downtown, but it's on the subway line so relatively easy to get to. Get off at Keele or High Park station, and then the park is right there. It's got a massive space with lots of trails to run on
